Facts about Greenwich
If you live in the area, you’ll no doubt be aware that it’s the home of the Cutty Sark which is the world’s only surviving tea clipper. The ship was built in Scotland in 1869 and its purpose was to carry tea from China to Britain as fast as possible. She was the fastest ship of her era and is now an award-winning attraction for visitors from far and wide who flock to Greenwich to see her.
